Please join us January 24th in the WVC Smith Gymnasium, 1300 5th Street, for a tribute to Coach Frank Mataya right after the end of the WVC women’s basketball game about 3:30 p.m. The women will begin play against Walla Walla C.C. at 2 p.m. The men will begin play at 4 p.m.

Bob Rust, Athletic Director, will assist Stan Hages with MC’ing the tribute. There will be an “open mic” for all to do personal tributes. Please pass the word, we would like a strong turnout.

Frank Mataya served as a head coach at WVC for 34 years, far longer than anyone else. He coached football in 1960 (4-4-1),
track from 1961 to 1975 and mens basktball from 1962 to 1975 and again from 1981 to 1984.
